AEDM13

Racing the setting sun, to catch the light on a single cactus in the wash.  A good exercise for me, as I had to focus on what was important and not get distracted by the background, or the adorable little quail family parading in front of me.  Quick observations and decisions.  Not half bad.  Saguaros are fun because at first glance they appear tall and green, but upon closer inspection there's so much more than that!  I think I'm actually pretty happy with this sketch.

I absolutely love this cactus. You totally captured it and gave it great personality. Visiting from AEDM.

I've photographed these cacti in the dessert, and you are right. The play of light and shadow make them look different depending on which side of the saguaro you are standing. Lovely art today.

Lovely watercolor sketch! I haven't painted outside in many a day, but I remember what a challenge it was to capture the light on a subject before it changed...and it changes so fast! Visiting from AEDM. :o)
