Spring

Having recently been reading about Van Gogh and Cloisonnism, and studying the illustrations of Christina Balit, I was inspired to color a butterfly picture I've been working on. I wanted to make it different from every other painting I've done of a tree and create the branches with negative space. It was fun playing with the design and adding the details to the mourning cloak, one of my favorite springtime butterflies.
